Since its founding in 2024, RLRF has received four boat donations, providing seven additional seats for rowing. These contributions have been instrumental in supporting Green Mountain Rowing’s recreational and competitive programs.
THE SYKES QUAD
This boat carries along with it significant history: it was originally used by the Australian National Team at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. The donation, generously made by Judy Davis and Henry Hamilton, is pictured here being carried by scullers in our youth rowing program.
THE MAAS AERO 1X
This Maas Aero rowed for many meters on Lake Champlain out of South Hero and was kindly donated by Theresa and Ray Melomo. It is a wonderful addition to our fleet for training and open-water adventures.
THE LITTLE SCULLING 1X
The Little Sculling Boat is specifically designed for smaller bodies and introduces kids to rowing. This boat was donated by Julie Hathaway once her three children outgrew it, and provides a wonderful stable platform for learning first strokes.
THE LEVATOR 1X
Vermont athlete Manon Belzile rowed this boat on Fairfield Pond (Fairfield, Vermont) and kindly donated it upon buying a new shell.
To advance the Royal Lamoille Rowing Foundation’s mission, the organization relies on ongoing support for both equipment and coaching. As Green Mountain Rowing grows, additional seats in boats are needed to get more athletes on the water.
Past donations have strengthened our safety program, funding a dedicated coaching launch, engine, safety kit, and PFDs. In 2025, Green Mountain Rowing further enhanced coach boat access with the addition of a winch and ramp, allowing coaches to launch independently and operate more efficiently and safely.
Looking ahead, our needs include oars, indoor rowers, radios for on-water communication, and ongoing boat maintenance and repairs.
